What exactly does the $150 cover?
Up to $150 reimbursement toward repair of a dime-size rock chip on the treated windshield, for 1 year from application. Platinum Clear Shield is the only company that offers this reimbursement with a glass coating. Approved claims are reimbursed within 90 days. Full terms are provided at the time of sale.
How long does the coating take to apply, and how long does it last?
Application takes under 10 minutes and fits prep, detail, wash finishing, and rigging workflows — while the vehicle, cart, or boat is already being prepped, so it doesn’t need its own appointment slot. Protection lasts up to 1 year, and it delivers 100% optical clarity with no haze. The same coating can also be applied to in-car touch screens.
Can we preload it or only sell it in F&I / at the counter?
Both. Many dealers preload a portion of inventory and also keep it on the F&I or wash menu. Golf cart and boat dealers most often bundle it at delivery and offer it again at service. With an 80% gross margin, it pencils out either way — and because it’s not sold in stores or on Amazon, there’s no retail price shopping against you.
What about touchscreen protection — is it the same sale?
It’s a companion sale. One conversation — “let’s protect your glass and your screen” — covers the two surfaces customers worry about most, especially on boats with expensive chartplotters. The screen protection is PET material — a flat, precision-cut sheet applied dry, not PPF.

Claims must be filed within 30 days of the damage, and repairs made before authorization will be denied. Approved claims are reimbursed within 90 days.
